Business Development Representative

 

POSITION TITLE:  Business Development Representative

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Sales Full Time (Exempt)

JOB FUNCTION:  Responsible for generating new business leads, sales opportunities and successful closing through prospecting, lead generation and relationship building. This position requires an experienced self-motivated / self-driven individual, capable of operating autonomously and developing sales plans, uncovering new business and drive Triad solutions into the market. Candidate must be capable of working in a team environment, uncovering and qualifying opportunities, following pro-actively on leads, performing customer presentations, develop partnerships, and follow a formal sales and business development process.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop qualifying leads;
  • Leverage contacts/networks to identify high probability leads;
  • Prospect potential clients, targeting stakeholders and decision makers of Fortune 100 and middle-market companies;
  • Perform lead and opportunity analysis;
  • Initiate sales cycle by scheduling meetings with qualified leads;
  • Develop a pipeline of potential clients; 
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients;
  • Develop and implement an effective sales plan, use a consultative sales strategy (i.e. Sandler Sales Technique) to effectively overcome client objections, and collaborate with internal resources to develop comprehensive sales presentation materials tailored to the account;
  • Effectively follow-up with prospects;
  • Build partnering relationships with complementary organizations;
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for production and assembly of customized marketing packages and promotional materials;
    • Assist in the creation and delivery of client-focused proposals, qualifications and presentation materials in response to RFPs and other opportunities for new business;
    • Draft, edit and proof such materials as marketing collateral, and letters;
    • Serve as liaison to potential clients to build, maintain and regularly update practice group contact lists in internal tracking processes and tools;
    • Create and maintain experience lists segmented business practices.

EDUCATIONAL PROFILE:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications

EXPERIENCE PROFILE:

  • Sales experience in a professional services organization (specifically in Legal Communications, Corporate Responsibility, Marketing Solutions and Public Affairs)
  • Hands on experience developing and tailoring sales materials and presentations based upon specific client opportunities
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically with Power Point
  • Math and/or basic accounting
